Terminology

Custom Fabricated Hinges:
With minimum quantities, we can service any special needs in the following areas:

• Cutting: Continuous hinges can be cut to your exact length requirements. Hinges should be cut to multiples of knuckle length to eliminate partial knuckles.

• Perforating: Indicate type and hole diameter, hole centers, edge dimensions, end dimension and whether staggered or in-line.

• Forming: Hinge leaves can be formed in a variety of configurations. Dimensions should be measured from the pin center line and inside of formed leaf.

• Swaging: Forming one or both leaves toward or beyond the center of the pin.

• Finishing: Painting is available on all hinges. Anodizing for aluminum; polishing and sanding for stainless steel.

Note: We require customers to furnish blueprint, dimensioned sketch or full information for any of the following:

• Special gauges, pins or widths
• Leaf styles
• Cut-outs, notches, special forming, or offsets
• Holes (plain or countersunk), screw size or rivet size and locations
• Special pin staking, heading or welding
